1. This agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and FEXO FZC LLC ("MoneyBook", "we", "us"), a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. They apply to the MoneyBook mobile apps, the web app at app.moneybook.ae, and this website.
By creating an account or using MoneyBook, you accept these Terms. If you are using MoneyBook for a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept them on that business's behalf. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement.
2. Your account
- You need an account, and the details you give us must be accurate. One person, one account — do not share sign-in credentials.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and turn on the app lock if others handle your phone.
- You must be at least 16, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- Tell us promptly at help@moneybook.ae if you think someone else has got into your account.
3. Using MoneyBook
MoneyBook is a record-keeping tool. It is not accounting software, it is not a bank, and it does not give financial, tax or legal advice. It does not move money. What it does is store what you type and do arithmetic on it. Whether your records satisfy your accountant or your tax authority is your responsibility.
You agree not to:
- Use MoneyBook for anything unlawful, including recording or facilitating criminal activity.
- Upload content that is illegal, or that you have no right to upload.
- Try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or get at data that is not yours.
- Resell or rent access to MoneyBook without our written agreement.
- Use automated systems to hammer our API beyond ordinary app use.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.
4. Our pricing promise
Recording and reading your own entries is free, and will remain free. We will not place the act of adding an entry behind a payment. We will not place your existing books behind a payment. If you can read your books today, you will be able to read them tomorrow without paying us.
We put this in our Terms rather than only in our marketing because we have watched other apps do the opposite — free for years, then a paywall across the one thing the app is for — and we think that treats people's livelihoods carelessly.
What this promise covers: creating books, adding and editing entries, reading and searching everything you have written, and exporting it.
What it does not promise: that every future feature will be free. We may one day charge for capabilities that go beyond keeping your own book — for example larger teams, or advanced tooling. If we do, those will be genuine additions, they will be clearly priced before you commit, and the free core described above will still be there.
We may show advertising or offer optional paid features in future. We will not make your existing records unreadable to force a payment.
5. Your data is yours
You keep all rights to everything you put into MoneyBook — your books, entries, contacts, attachments and business details. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us only the narrow permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, transmit it between your devices, back it up, and display it to the people you have given access. That permission exists to operate MoneyBook and for nothing else. It ends when you delete the content or your account.
We will not sell your content, and we will not use it for advertising.
6. Backups, and keeping your own copy
We take regular encrypted backups and we test that they restore. We do this because we take the responsibility seriously.
Even so, please keep your own copy. Export your books periodically as PDF or Excel — it takes a moment and it is yours to hold. No online service, ours included, can guarantee data will never be lost. Hardware fails, software has bugs, accounts get deleted by mistake. A recent export of your own is the only backup entirely within your control.
You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of, or corruption of, data — see sections 9 and 10.
7. Teams
If you invite people to your business, you decide what each of them can see and do. You are responsible for who you invite and for removing them when they should no longer have access.
Where you record other people's personal data — the names and numbers of your customers, suppliers and staff — you are responsible for having the right to do so under the law where you operate. In data protection terms you are the controller of that information; we process it on your behalf.
8. Availability
We work to keep MoneyBook running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. We may take it down for maintenance, and things outside our control — networks, hosting providers, app stores, government action — can interrupt it.
The app is built so that this matters as little as possible: it works offline, so an outage on our side does not stop you recording your day.
We may change, add or remove features. If we withdraw something significant, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export what you need.
9. No warranty
MoneyBook is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure; that defects will be corrected; or that any data will be preserved without loss. You use MoneyBook at your own risk, and you are responsible for verifying anything on which you intend to rely.
10. Limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages; nor for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, or anticipated savings — whether or not we were told such loss was possible.
- We are not liable for loss of, or damage to, or corruption of any data, however caused, including where it results from your own actions, a device failure, an act of a third party, or a fault in the service. Section 6 explains why keeping your own exports matters.
- We are not liable for decisions you take based on information in MoneyBook, nor for any tax, accounting, regulatory or legal consequence of your records.
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of people you invite to your business.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to this agreement or the service, for all claims combined, will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$100. Where the service is provided free of charge, you acknowledge this limit reflects that.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you; the rest still will.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FEXO FZC LLC, its officers, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of MoneyBook, your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.
12. Ending the agreement
You can leave at any time. Delete your account in the app and your data goes with it, as described in our Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep first — once deletion completes, we cannot get it back for you.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Except where a breach or the law makes it impossible, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.
Sections 5, 9, 10, 11 and 14 survive the end of this agreement.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, so you can export your data and leave if you disagree. Continuing to use MoneyBook after a change takes effect means you accept it.
Section 4 is different. We will not amend the pricing promise in section 4 to make your existing entries unreadable or to paywall the recording of new ones. That is the point of making it a term rather than a slogan.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of the Emirate of Ajman have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect our intellectual property.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
